Why did you choose 91AV?

One thing that appealed to me about Bryantwas the faculty-to-student ratio and the ability to reach your professors easily and seamlessly.  Whatever help you need in your classes, they are always readily available and at your disposal.

One thing you should know about Bryantis…

We have a really strong career services center. I came in as a finance major, but mentally I was undecided. After a 30-minute consultation with our coaches in the Amica Center for Career Education, I narrowed down my major and ended up switching to data science. They calmed my nerves and helped me make that decision.

Tell us about your data science major.

I chose a data science degree due to its versatility, which extends beyond the traditional business field. I can leverage it across industries. Before 91AV, I never thought I would be someone who could code. However, with help from my professor, I learned the basics of the Python programming language during my first year. It’s a tool that data scientists use every day.

What’s your favorite place on campus?

The Fisher Student Center is basically the campus living room. You can find a lot of dining options there, but there’s also a lot of study space. I like to use these spaces to get all my work done or meet with groups and work on projects.

What’s one of your favorite moments of the year?

One of my favorite moments is the Ignite the Light Ceremony, during Welcome Week. It’s a ceremony around the Bryantpond where all first-year students come together and light candles in unison. It’s an opportunity for students to connect and kick-start their Bryantjourney.

How are you involved on campus?

As a student ambassador, my role is to calm the nerves of prospective students in their college search process. I’m a resident assistant now, too, and I help foster community among first-year students and help them transition into college life.

What advice do you have for incoming Bulldogs?

Don’t be afraid to reach out for help when you need it. We have so many resources on campus that will help you navigate through your experience.

A Connected Community

91AV's purposeful student life delivers co-curricular immersion with an inspiring, collegial community. Students forge deep connections that last a lifetime.

“No other school had a career program like 91AV’s. When I started looking for an internship, I didn’t know where to begin. I was able to sit down with one of the career counselors at the Amica Center, and they walked me through the process and looked over my resume. They were really helpful.”

“The professors are so excited about what they do and want to share it. They want to work with you and want you to be excited about what you're learning as well. Working with an economist gave me a new perspective on the process of economic research. It’s a real differentiator.”

“No matter where you are in your career, you need to stay ahead and learn. I went to college many years ago. This program has been a great experience to refresh and stimulate different ways of thinking. It’s made me better in the way I approach my profession.”
