Program Overview

The Professional and Creative Writing program offers students a dynamic and comprehensive approach to the craft of writing in both professional and creative contexts. Rooted in a blend of theory, practice, and real-world application, this program equips students with the skills, knowledge, and creativity necessary to excel as writers in diverse fields and genres.

Hands-On Learning Opportunities

Beyond classroom instruction, the program offers extensive hands-on learning opportunities to help students refine their writing skills and gain practical experience. Internships, co-op programs, and freelance opportunities provide students with real-world writing experiences in professional settings such as publishing houses, media organizations, marketing firms, and corporate communications departments. Creative writing workshops and literary magazines offer platforms for students to showcase their creative work, receive feedback from peers and faculty, and engage with the broader writing community.

Faculty Expertise and Mentorship

The program is led by a team of experienced faculty members who are accomplished writers, editors, journalists, and communication professionals. Faculty mentors provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to students, helping them hone their writing craft and develop their unique voice and style. With small class sizes and personalized attention, students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors, participate in individualized writing projects, and receive mentorship tailored to their goals and interests.
